Collapse load of optimally designed unbraced flexibly connected steel frames

摘要: In this paper a genetic algorithm based optimum design method is developed for unbraced steel frames with semi-rigid beam-to-column connections including the geometric non-linearity. Followed by presentation of collapse load computation optimally designed carrying out second order plastic hinge analysis. The effect non-linearity arising from connection flexibility accounted representing non-linear moment-rotation behaviour using standardization functions Frye-Morris polynomials. Two examples are presented to show nonlinearly and on their loads.
