摘要: Pesticides used to maintain golf course turf can threaten ground water. This concern is particularly important in most of New York's Long Island, where generally sandy soils overlie a sole source aquifer. study uses two methods evaluate the potential for pesticides that are commonly on Island's courses leach water. Adapting Pesticide Root Zone Model (PRZM). Release 1. dense and applying site-specific soil data, certain pesticides, including metalaxyl trichlorfon, identified as problem leachers. PRZM simulations also identify Island soils, Plymouth Carver which arc vulnerable leaching. When adequate input data unavailable, water ubiquity score (GUS) method may be useful. GUS teachability classifications applied courses, actually detected samples taken agree with predictions field data. The evaluation leaching pesticide degradation products (DCPA, maneb, mancozeb metabolites), shown greater threat than their parent compounds. These potentially useful designing monitoring programs guiding use selection decisions managers.
