A PSYCHOACOUSTICALLY MOTIVATED SOUND ONSET DETECTION ALGORITHM FOR POLYPHONIC AUDIO

摘要: We propose an algorithm for sound onset detection applying principles of psychoacoustics. A popular model loudness perception in human auditory system is used to compute a novelty function that allows more robust onsets. The psychoacoustics paradigm also us define thresholds the are both physically and perceptually meaningful hence easy manipulate according application. performs well with overall accuracy 86% monophonic audio 82% polyphonic audio.
