摘要: Objective. The application of a decision algorithm is described here for the inclusion patients in protocol therapeutic intervention by use an implantable neuromodulation system. This based on assessment psychological profiles and their environment. Materials methods. was applied to Multidisciplinary Unit Pain Treatment at General University Hospital Valencia (Spain) means clinical interview performed Psychology Department prior decision. It two samples. first sample made up psychologically assessed implantation; second implanted whom retrospectively, reviewing medical history. Results. In sample, pain relief 50% or higher obtained 80% subjects studied, while percentage decreased 63%. While rate implants removed 1 4.2%, 2 7.5% due lack efficacy. third from 2, discriminant analysis using pooled variable. Conclusion. results confirm need considering profile as variable predicting optimum result treatment chronic pain.
