摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter introduces a book that deals with the role of modem liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (LC-MS) in Drug Metabolism. Clearly, advances mass spectrometry, most specifically LC-MS, have greatly accelerated our ability to quantify, profile and characterize drug metabolites. has been largely due order-of-magnitude increases MS sensitivity selectivity as well vast improvements instrument control automation attributed remarkable processing speed data storage capacity personal computers. The introduction atmospheric pressure ionization (API) techniques enabled simple interface chromatography spectrometery, use LC-MS increasingly dominated analysis metabolites various matrices. Quadrupole instruments varying design led way for systems capable quantifying thousands biological samples per week. Varying configurations quadrupole spectrometers mainstay over decade. More recently, linear ion trap (LIT) along hybrid pure bred time-of-flight (TOF) possessing even higher selectivity, structural characterization high potency drugs smaller sample size.
