摘要: This paper presents the results of a study air motion in motored four-stroke direct injection diesel engine using hot-wire anemometry. The effects speed, valve masking and supercharging on mean swirl have been studied. A theoretical analysis is developed for which general shows good agreement with experiments reported here measurements other workers similarly sized engines. The problem ‘squish’ has investigated it shown to be radial component spiralling flow entering combustion chamber. Reasonable found between measurement at edge bowl that considers bulk during last 30°-40° b.t.d.c. compression period.
