摘要: Normal fault-generated mountain fronts (FGMF) are the geomorphic expression resulting from repeated normal surface faulting events over a geologic time period. The evolution of these features, which common in Apennines landscape, is strictly connected to recent activity associated fault, thus their geomorphological analysis may give insight on seismic hazard. purpose this work point out contribution FGMF geometric and characterization solution questions, such as i) identification first order fault segments, with particular regard termination (i.e. where geological offsets minimum); ii) response interaction among segments progressive growth individual segments. To highlight added values problems, approach was tested central Apennines. Three case studies have confirmed that useful tool active tectonics studies: particular, identifying it conveniently integrates local paleoseismological structural analyses providing deformation wider perspective.
