摘要: The issue of whether or not there is evidence a causal relationship between the experience unemployment and future economic activity an individual is, as yet, unresolved by labour economists. Theoretical reasoning suggests that one may expect to find such relationship, either through reduction in human capital employer 'labelling' 'screening' processes. This paper considers issues which lend complexity problem seeks address these using variety techniques. In particular, problems arising from interval point sampling longitudinal information, effects observed unobserved heterogeneity lack control for serially correlated exogenous factors are investigated. study focuses upon work histories group young males who left school 1974 at age 16 years U.K. We that, having controlled heterogeneity, odds becoming unemployed 2.3 times higher youths were last year than unemployed; but, given current status, past history informative about his chances being unemployed.
