摘要: Rare-earth orthovanadates, a kind of prototypical host, have received extensive attentions owing to their important applications. Although there has been great progress in the control morphologies and optimzation properties, intrinsic reasons for morphology dependence luminescence are still unclear. In this work, we chose GdVO4:Eu3+ as model compound study. By varying surfactant dose involved under mild hydrothermal conditions, several distinct morphologies, such nanorods, nanowafers, nanoparticles, snowballs were prepared. Depending on residual content, surface cationic nonstoichiometry defects, especially unstable VO4 groups, demonstrated exist nanocrystals. The first experimental evidence relationship between defect states luminescent emission nanocrystals is presented.
