摘要: Summary The paper describes the metamorphic history of two areas Lewisian gneiss in North-West Highlands Scotland. Metamorphosed sedimentary rocks are described for first time from Loch Torridon area. It is shown that both and Scourie districts gneisses have been produced separate periods metamorphism, migmatization deformation. These episodes, which named Scourian Laxfordian separated by a period uplift tension during series uniform dolerite dykes was intruded. Since very great interval appears to elapsed between it suggested these episodes should be regarded as members, not single formation heretofore, but distinct chronological units.
