摘要: Water supplies around the globe are growing complex and include more intense treatment methods than just decades ago. Now, desalination of seawater wastewater reuse for both non-potable potable water supply have become common practice in many places. LCA has been used to assess potentials reveal hotspots among possible technologies scenarios future. studies support decisions planning urban systems some important findings documentation reduced environmental impact from brackish over sea water, significant impacts changed drinking quality burden instead desalination. Some main challenges conducting LCAs their complexity diversity, requiring very large data collection efforts, with multiple sources information, them not public cooperation. Important product system substantial use, it is emphasized that standard life cycle inventory databases do reflect variance across locations technologies.
