Childhood obesity: highlights of AMA Expert Committee recommendations.

摘要: Childhood obesity is an increasingly serious problem; 13.9 percent of children two to five years age, 18.8 six 11 and 17.4 adolescents 12 19 age in America are obese. Practical strategies that primary care physicians can use tackle the problem scarce. The American Medical Association recently convened expert panel address this need. Evidence about how best manage prevent was reviewed incorporated into a series reports. Expert Committee on Assessment, Prevention, Treatment Child Adolescent Overweight Obesity recommends addressing issue weight with all at least once year. Family urged assess key dietary habits (e.g., consumption sweetened beverages), physical activity habits, readiness change lifestyle family history obesity-related illnesses. Laboratory testing recommendations depend degree associated For body mass index between 85th 94th percentiles but who have no illnesses, fasting lipid profile should be done.
