摘要: Background and purpose Simultaneous radiotherapy with chemotherapy is a standard treatment for inoperable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but the clinical outcome still remains poor. To further intensify treatment, substances need to be identified, which increase effect of radiation on tumor cells without enhancing toxicity normal tissue. Hormones have different profile than or cytostatic drugs. As NSCLC often express estrogen receptors (ERs), combination genistein estradiol in vitro was investigated. Material methods A549 an inducible expression mutated TP53 fibroblasts male donor (DF-18) were examined. ER immunocytologically confirmed all studied lines. Clonogenic survival measured after incubation (0.01 microM 10 as maximum clinically applicable dose) irradiation doses (0-4 Gy). The differentiation state combined therapy analyzed. Results expressing more radioresistant wild-type cells. Incubation nonfunctional increased radiosensitivity both tested concentrations. By contrast, DF-18 not altered by hormonal incubation. In induced growth arrest that additional Conclusion might sensitized against estradiol. better tolerable patients, studies are warranted assess potential gains this therapy.
