A Semantic-Based Policy Analysis Solution for the Deployment of NFV Services

摘要: Policies in network function virtualization (NFV) systems may conflict when they have different restrictions on the shared resources. In this context, it is of paramount importance to identify such conflicts before sending service (NS) request (NS-Req) embedding algorithm avoid unexpected behavior its execution. Since both NS-Req and NFV infrastructure (NFVI) contain many policies, process detection diagnosis an intricate work for humans computer systems. Besides, as occur among a set constraints, pairwise will not suffice. Therefore, paper proposes NSChecker, semantic verification system detect diagnose policy environments. To achieve functionality, NSChecker uses ontology, called Onto-NFV, describe NFVI, NS, associated policies. With carried out through description logic (DL) inconsistency verification. We develop prototype Java validate capabilities small scenario with three use cases, showing that supports concerning following policies: precedence, resource usage, location. Finally, we evaluate performance using some real topologies. The results shows our solution efficient even scenarios 50 000 nodes.
