摘要: The short-range order and dynamics in crystalline α-TeO2 have been investigated by neutron X-ray total scattering Rietveld refinement of diffraction data. true lengths the two bonds a Te–O–Te bridge are 1.882(1) 2.117(1) A, high valence, 1.293, strong, short bond is balanced low 0.686, weak, long bond. root-mean-square (rms) thermal variation, 0.083(1) length nearly twice rms 0.048(1) because largest motion both Te O atoms perpendicular to bonds. A bond-valence model for variation lengths, which average instantaneous positions conform requirements, accounts closely observed distribution Te–O distances α-TeO2. This has important implications interpretation experiments on tellurite glasses.
