摘要: Infections with enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) are the major cause of hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS ), most-common acute renal failure in childhood. The mortality rate HUS (0%–5% most recent series and 10%–30% individual reports) residual chronic sequelae (in up to 50% patients long-term follow-up studies) emphasize seriousness for public health. Several studies have described possible sources EHEC infection. However, majority cases pathogen cannot be identified food or animals routes transmission remain unclear. In this review article hypothesized summarized. medical data bases ”Medline” ”Current contents” were screened years January 1966 through November 1998. difficulties following chain infection discussed. A precise evaluation environmental aspects patient is a precondition further analysis.
