Bacteremias in patients with severe burn trauma.

摘要: UNLABELLED The aim of the study was to investigate causative agents bacteremia in burned patients during 1999-2003. MATERIAL AND METHODS All case records 82 with treated at Department Plastic Surgery and Burns Kaunas University Medicine Hospital were analyzed RESULTS Mean body surface area bacteremic 29%. Bacteremia diagnosed, on an average, 15th day after hospitalization 16th burn. agent 71% cases methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus; 11% bacteremias caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 78% sensitive gentamicin. In all years, aureus most common bacteremia. Altogether, 55 out recovered. mean duration inpatient treatment 48 days. CONCLUSIONS diagnosed beginning third week hospital stay. More than half (67%) survived. bacteriemia gentamicin-sensitive strains aeruginosa.
