摘要: Abstract A possible protective role for reduced glutathione (GSH) in aflatoxin B 1 -induced hepatotoxicity male rats was investigated. 200-mg/kg dose of cysteine (a precursor) given prior to the administration , hepatic necrosis and partially reversed decrease activity drug metabolizing enzyme system seen on same alone. On other hand, diethyl maleate, a compound which depletes liver GSH, enhanced aflatoxin-induced hepatotoxicity. In contrast untreated rats, pretreatment with phenobarbital appeared block mixed function oxidase . 3-methylcholanthrene did not protect against damage or benzphetamine N -demethylase
