摘要: Teleseismic P wave arrival times recorded by a dense network of seismograph stations located on Kilauea volcano, Hawaii, are inverted to determine lateral variation in crust and upper mantle structure depth 70 km. The crustal is dominated relatively high velocities within the central summit complex along two radial rift zones compared with nonrift flank volcano. Both mean velocity contrast between distribution agree well results from refraction studies. Comparison Bouguer gravity anomalies over volcano through simple physical model also gives excellent agreement. Mantle appears be more homogeneous than structure. root square for averages only 1.5%, whereas exceeds 4%. underlain normal (8.1 km/s) material uppermost (12--25 km), suggesting that large magma storage reservoirs not present at this level passageways deeper sources must quite narrow.
