Expression of rat transforming growth factor alpha mRNA during development occurs predominantly in the maternal decidua

摘要: Previous studies have shown that transforming growth factor alpha is expressed during rodent development. To establish the site(s) of mRNA expression rat embryogensis, we performed in situ hybridization and Northern blot analyses on samples embryonic maternal tissues at various gestational ages. Our results indicate high levels are observed early development result decidua not embryo. Decidual appears to be induced after implantation, peaks day 8, then slowly declines through 15 which time being resorbed. Expression highest region adjacent embryo low or nondetectable uterus, placenta, other tissues. The developmentally regulated decidua, together with presence epidermal receptors this tissue, suggests stimulates proliferation locally an autocrine mechanism. Since present produced may also act these paracrine endocrine mechanisms.
