摘要: High-index-contrast optical waveguides are crucial for the development of photonic integrated circuits with complex functionalities. Despite many similarities between and acoustic waves, high-acoustic-index-contrast phononic remain elusive, preventing intricate manipulation phonons on par its counterpart. Here, we present realization such formation through exploiting a gallium-nitride-on-sapphire platform, which provides strong confinement control phonons. By demonstrating key building blocks analogous to circuit components, establish functionality scalability circuits. Moreover, unidirectional excitation propagating modes allows exploration unconventional spin-orbit interaction in this opens up possibility novel applications as gyroscopic non-reciprocal devices. Such could provide an invaluable resource both classical quantum information processing.
