摘要: Whereas preclinical investigations and clinical studies have established that CD8+ T cells can profoundly affect cancer progression, the underlying mechanisms are still elusive. Challenging prevalent view beneficial effect of in is solely attributable to their cytotoxic activity, several reports indicated ability promote tumor regression dependent on cytokine secretion profile self-renew. Evidence has also shown microenvironment disarm cell immunity, leading emergence dysfunctional cells. The existence different types calls for a more precise definition immune phenotypes abandonment generic terms “pro-tumor” “antitumor.” Based recent investigating functions cancer, we here propose some guidelines precisely define functional states cancer.
