摘要: Plastic deformation of polycrystalline materials includes dislocation slip, twinning, grain boundary sliding and eigenstrain produced by phase transformations diffusion. These mechanisms are often alternative competing in different loading conditions described stress level, strain rate temperature. Modelling plasticity has a clear multiscale character, such that plastic been widely studied on the macro-scale finite element methods, meso-scale representative volume approaches, micro-scale dynamics methods atomic scale molecular simulations. Advancement further improvement reliability constitutive models is expected to originate from developments at microstructural or even smaller length scales transfering observed suited manner. Currently efficient modelling tools have developed for there still exists challenge passing relevant information between scales. This chapter aims overviewing current stage scales, discussing possible approaches bridge reporting successful applications.
