摘要: We previously reported that sugar levels in the silkworm hemolymph, i.e., blood, increase immediately (within 1 h) after intake of a high-glucose diet, and administration human insulin decreases elevated hemolymph silkworms. In this hyperglycemic model, however, pioglitazone or metformin, drugs used clinically for treatment type II diabetes, have no effect. Therefore, here we established model diabetes evaluation anti-diabetic such as metformin. Silkworms fed diet over long time-period (18 exhibited hyperlipidemic phenotype. these silkworms, phosphorylation JNK, stress-responsive protein kinase, was enhanced fat body, an organ functionally resembles mammalian liver adipose tissue. Fat bodies isolated from silkworms decreased sensitivity to insulin. The impaired glucose tolerance, characterized by high fasting higher tolerance test. Administration metformin improved These findings suggest are useful evaluating hypoglycemic activities candidate against diabetes.
