摘要: The habitat classification forms an integral part of the European Nature Information System (EUNIS), developed and managed by Topic Centre for Protection Biodiversity (ETC/NPB in Paris) Environment Agency (EEA) Environmental Observation Network (EIONET). EUNIS system consists a database together with explanatory documentation. habitats are arranged hierarchy, starting at level 1. They provide comprehensive typology Europe its adjoining seas. This report provides full documentation to 4 marine 3 terrestrial freshwater habitats. Marine habitats, their descriptions, criteria deriving them, were extensively revised following expert workshop Helsinki July 2004. Terrestrial critically reviewed us Many new definitions added most existing revised. A few names changed. results these changes presented as set factsheets levels 1 (marine) (terrestrial freshwater), accompanied key glossary. In annex, index numbers all listed, including higher levels.
