摘要: Abstract : This report outlines an approach for assessing wetland functions in the 404 Regulatory Program as well other regulatory, planning, and management situations. The includes a development application phase. In phase, wetlands are classified into regional subclasses based on hydrogeomorphic factors. A functional profile is developed to describe characteristics of subclass, identify that most likely be performed, discuss influence how those performed. Reference selected represent range variability exhibited by subclass reference domain, assessment models constructed calibrated interdisciplinary team standards data from these wetlands. conditions undisturbed, or least disturbed, landscapes domain. indices resulting provide measure capacity perform relative subclass. phase approach, procedure, characterization wetland, its functions, analyzing results assessment, applying them specific project. procedure can he used compare project alternatives, determine impacts proposed project, avoid minimize impacts, mitigation requirements success, applications requiring functions.
