摘要: Stationary electricity storage technologies (SES) allow to increase the shares of intermittent renewable energy in networks. As SES currently exhibit high costs, policy makers have started introducing demand-pull policies order foster their diffusion and drive these further down learning curve. However, as observed case technologies, for can come at costs cases where profitability gap that needs be covered by support is large. Yet, create value multiple distinct applications power system – making it a “multi-purpose technology”. We argue make use multi-purpose character limit policies. propose strategy which grants based on different applications, thereby moving curve efficiently. To our argumentation, we firstly conduct comprehensive literature review exemplifying technologies. Second, assess one technology (vanadium redox flow battery) five highlighting strong variation across applications.
