摘要: The effect of the limitation Griffith flaws, introduced in an abraded surface glass, on strength glass-tungsten composites was investigated for small sizes flaws. Hasselman and Fulrath's proposed fracture theory this type system extended to flaw sizes. use tungsten spheres with two particle or a wide distribution about one average size as dispersed phase glass matrix decreased mean free path more than could be achieved single dispersion. Average paths determined experimentally by statistical techniques were good agreement those calculated Fullman's equation. This technique successfully used when had distribution. strong internal stresses caused mismatch thermal expansion phases reducing composite demonstrated.
