A piezoelectric based energy harvester with dynamic magnification: modelling, design and experimental assessment

摘要: This work presents a simple and innovative piezoelectric energy harvester, inspired by fractal geometry intrinsically including dynamic magnification. Energy harvesting from ambient vibrations exploiting materials is an efficient solution for the development of self-sustainable electronic nodes. After initial design step, present investigates eigenfrequencies proposed both through free vibration analysis model computational modal analysis. The experimental validation performed on prototype, confirms accurate frequency response predicted these models with five below 100 Hz. Despite harvester has transducers only symmetric half top surface lamina, rate conversion significant all investigated eigenfrequencies. Moreover, adding small ballast mass structure, it possible to excite specific thus improving conversion.
