摘要: Access points in 802.11 wireless networks suffer from performance problems because of insufficient resources at layer 2 — the DCF (Distributed Control Function) access method provides equal probability to all devices a cell including point itself. Consequently, degrades and contention between uploads downloads can lead familiar TCP unfairness problem [1]. In this paper, we study measured mechanisms different layers for improving LANs. At 2, consider AAP (Asymmetric Point) solution that keeps low buffer occupancy point. 3, LAS-ACK, an adaptation Least Attained Service (LAS) policy LANs aims minimizing average queue size by giving priority shortest connections. Using experimental testbed, demonstrate is good especially multimedia (delay jitter sensitive) transfers as long upload traffic low. On other hand, LAS-ACK very efficient durations most download distribution flow sizes skewed enough. The price pay combining requirement deploying on stations not only resulting actually combines positive effects both solutions less sensible sizes, while flows benefit short
