摘要: SUMMARY We analyse statistically the long-term properties of several instrumental earthquake catalogues. Complete catalogues exhibit both short- and clustering for earthquakes all depth ranges. After accounting effect short-term clustering, we find that in residual (declustered) catalogues, not periodicity, characterizes occurrence earthquakes-shallow, intermediate, deep. The degree is same different Circumstantial evidence indicates v,ariation seismicity governed by a power-law temporal distribution; as it scale invariant. fractal dimension an set on time axis order 0.8-0.9. Therefore, mainshock closer to stationary Poisson process than standard aftershock sequences shallow earthquakes.
