摘要: In arson cases, the collection and detection of traces ignitable liquids on a suspect's hands can provide information to forensic investigation. Police forces currently lack simple, robust, efficient reliable solution perform this type swabbing. article, we describe study undertaken develop procedure for liquid residues suspects. Sixteen different supports were considered their applicability gasoline present subsequent analysis in laboratory was evaluated. Background contamination, consisting volatiles emanating from supports, efficiencies sampling materials assessed by passive headspace extraction with an activated charcoal strip (DFLEX device) followed gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. After statistical treatment results, non-powdered latex gloves retained as most suitable method sampling. On basis obtained prototype kit designed tested. This is made three compartment multilayer bag enclosed sealed metal containing pairs gloves: one be worn sampler, blank sample last person suspected have been contact liquids. The design developed preventing external cross-contaminations.
