摘要: As advances in protective equipment are made, it has been observed that the weight law enforcement officers must carry every day is greatly increasing. Many investigations have noted health risks of these increases, yet none looked at its effects on officer mobility. The primary purpose this study was to examine influence both safety equipment, as well a lateral focal point (FP), stride length, velocity, and acceleration first six strides short sprint. Twenty male students performed two maximal effort sprint trials, participating college's gymnasium, from each four starting positions: forwards (control position), backwards, 90° left, right. Subjects placed FP group (n = 9) were required maintain focus during left right backwards trials. On second testing date, subjects repeated tests while wearing 9.07 kg belt, simulating gear. belt averaged 11.47 ± 1.64% subject body mass. A significant main effect trials found (F 20.494, p < 0.01), which decreases for velocity acceleration. No other result position or no interactions between independent variables. Conclusively, results show increasing weights duty gear detrimental acceleration, impeding their mobility, may be dangerous use force threatening situations.
