摘要: Experiments involving radial foils on a $1 \mathrm{M}\mathrm{A}$, $100 \mathrm{n}\mathrm{s}$ current driver can be used to study the ablation of thin and liners, produce extreme conditions relevant laboratory astrophysics, aid in computational code validation. This research focuses initial phase $20 \ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{m}$ Al foil (8111 alloy), configuration, driven by Cornell University's COBRA pulsed power generator. In these experiments ablated surface plasma (ASP) top side strongly collimated axial jet are observed developing midway through rise. With experimental results this work gives detailed description role ASP formation with without an applied magnetic field. $\ensuremath{\sim}1$ $\mathrm{T}$ field is Helmholtz-coil pair slow, $150 \ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{s}$ pulse penetrates load hardware before arrival pulse. Several effects observed: (1) extreme-ultraviolet emission from shows considerable azimuthal asymmetry while develops motion that reduces asymmetry, (2) slows development when applied, (3) becomes less has density minimum (hollowing) axis. PERSEUS, XMHD code, qualitatively quantitatively reproduced all observations. The differences between MHD Hall inertial discussed. addition PERSEUS describe we were not able resolve experimentally suggest line future better diagnostics.
