摘要: The advent of electronic computers has revolutionised the application statistical mechanics to liquid state. Computers have permitted, for example, calculation phase diagram water and ice folding proteins. behaviour alkanes adsorbed in zeolites, formation crystal phases process nucleation. Computer simulations provide, on one hand, new insights into physical processes action, other, quantitative results greater precision. Insights facilitate reductionist agenda physics, whilst large scale bring out emergent features that are inherent (although far from obvious) complex systems consisting many bodies. It is safe say computer now an indispensable tool both theorist experimentalist, future their usefulness will only increase. This chapter presents a selective review some incredible advances condensed matter physics could been achieved with use computers.
