摘要: Introduction Fructosamine is a marker of glucose control reflecting the average glycaemic level over preceding 2–3 weeks. has not gained as much popularity glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) for diabetes mellitus (DM) monitoring, and related underlying reasons remain unclear. We aim to search summarise available evidence on accuracy fructosamine measurements diagnose monitor DM. Methods analysis This systematic review will include randomised trials, controlled before-and-after studies, time series designs, cohort case–control studies cross-sectional surveys reporting diagnosis and/or monitoring DM (type 1 DM, type 2 gestational DM) with compared other measures glycaemia (fasting glucose, oral tolerance test, random HbA1c), without any language restriction. perform electronic searches in PubMed, Scopus databases, supplemented manual searches. Articles published from January 1980 30 June 2015 be eligible inclusion this review. Two authors independently screen, select extract data assess risk bias discrepancies resolved by consensus. clinical heterogeneity examining types interventions outcomes each study, pool judged clinically homogeneous. also statistical using χ2 test homogeneity quantify it I2 statistic. Absolute (sensitivity, specificity) pooled bivariate random-effects model, allowing intersetting variability. Negative positive predictive values computed fructosamine, another measure estimates sensitivity specificity, Bayes’ theorem. Ethics dissemination use does require ethics approval.
