摘要: The effect of education on health has been increasing over the past several decades. We hypothesize that this disparity is related to health-related technical progress: more-educated people are first take advantage technological advances improve health. test hypothesis using data disease-specific mortality rates for 1980 and 1990, cancer registry 1973–1993. estimate gradients in compulsory schooling as a measure education. then relate these two measures innovation: number active drug ingredients available treat disease, rate change from disease. find individuals have greater survival those diseases which there more progress.
