摘要: Synthetic biology is an interdisciplinary field that brings together and engineering at its core. Understanding evaluating the ecological effects of synthetic applications also require broad convergence ability to adapt rapid technological developments. This article describes a series workshops designed provide space for groups biologists, natural social scientists, other stakeholders identify priority hazards begin design research programs inform risk assessments management applications. Participants identified gene flow, fitness, competition as key using engineered microorganisms. The pace product development, potential environmental release numerous applications, diffuse diverse nature community are prompting renewed attention on how robust investigate such hazards.
