摘要: BACKGROUND Soil CO2 efflux is considered to mainly derive from biotic activities, while potential contribution of abiotic processes has been mostly neglected especially in productive ecosystems with highly active soil biota. We collected a subtropical forest sterilize for incubation under different temperature (20 and 30 °C) moisture regimes (30%, 60 90% water holding capacity), aiming quantify emission changing environment scenarios. MAIN FINDINGS Results showed that accounted considerable proportion (15.6-60.0%) such biologically conditions, the was very likely degradation organic carbon via thermal oxidation reactive oxygen species. Furthermore, compared biotically driving decomposition processes, less sensitive changes moisture, causing reductions total as increased. CONCLUSIONS These observations highlight unneglectable even high biological responses environmental could increase uncertainty predicting cycling.
