摘要: Post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) is a relatively underappreciated condition that can develop as secondary consequence following traumatic brain injury (TBI). The aim of this rapid evidence review to provide synthesis existing on the effectiveness treatment interventions for prevention PTE in people who have suffered moderate/severe TBI increase awareness and understanding among consumers. Electronic medical databases (n = 5) gray literature published between January 2010 April 2015 were searched studies management PTE. Twenty-two eligible identified met inclusion criteria. No was found any pharmacological treatments or symptomatic seizures adults with However, limited high-level antiepileptic drug levetiracetam children. Low-level nonpharmacological significantly reducing patients PTE, but only minority cases, requiring further confirm results. This provides an opportunity researchers health service professionals better understand underlying pathophysiology novel, more effective therapeutic targets improve quality life condition.
