摘要: Improvements in Aboriginal health have been slow. Research demonstrates ongoing discrimination towards Australians based on race, including services, leads to poor outcomes. Using an eclectic methodology observations and discussions with practitioners experienced working patients, this paper identifies how cross-cultural misunderstandings undermine the quality of care patients hospital offers suggestions for improving practice. It also explores concept institutional racism challenges doctors reflect their role perpetuating power imbalances. We argue that physicians healthcare providers need do more than just deliver evidence-based interventions, by critically reflecting own attitudes practices work collectively effect systemic change which creates a inclusive safe environment all people accessing healthcare.
