摘要: National and state surveys show large disparities in pneumococcal vaccination status among Whites, Blacks Latinos aged ≥ 65. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there any difference the validity self-report for by race/ethnicity that might contribute substantial observed population-level coverage estimates. Self-reported was compared with medical record documentation samples White, Black, Latino members a health plan examine differences disparities. Sensitivity significantly lower (0.849, 95% CI 0.818–0.876) (0.869, 0.847–0.889) than Whites (0.931 0.918–0.942). Specificity somewhat higher but were not statistically significant. Coverage Latinos, respectively, 84.3%, 73.5%, 82.3% based on self-report, 74.8%, 71.9%, 84.2% records. results suggest differential error, i.e., summative effect over-reporting under-reporting within race-ethnic group, may size direction surveys.
