摘要: Abstract Al 2 O 3 –Al TiO 5 layered composites were manufactured by a colloidal route from aqueous and suspensions with 50 vol.% solids. The mechanical behaviours of individual monolithic composite materials combined taken as basis for the design structures. Residual stresses which are likely to occur due processing thermally introduced misfits calculated considered manufacture laminates. Monoliths 10, 30 40 vol.% second phase showed that increasing proportions aluminium titanate decrease strength increase non-linear behaviour. In order obtain desired combination layers, two laminate designs external central layers one composition alternating internal layer other chosen taking into account chemical compatibility development residual stresses. system AA10, monophase high intermediate 10 vol.% . A10A40 was selected combine low energy absorbing sufficient provided stress–strain behaviour laminates linear up their failure stresses, apparent strain zero load after fracture larger than corresponding monoliths same layers. Moreover, stress drop samples occurred in step-like form thus suggesting occurrence additional consuming processes during fracture.
