摘要: OBJECTIVES: This study examined the relative and incremental importance of multiple predictors generalist physicians' care underserved populations. METHODS: Survey results from a 1993 national random sample 2955 allopathic osteopathic physicians who graduated medical school in 1983 or 1984 were analyzed. RESULTS: Four independent providing to populations (1) being member an ethnic/minority group, (2) having participated National Health Service Corps, (3) strong interest practicing area prior attending school, (4) growing up area. Eighty-six percent with all 4 substantial populations, compared 65% 3 predictors, 49% 2 34% 1 predictor, 22% no predictors. Sex, family income when up, curricular exposure during not independently related caring for underserved. CONCLUSIONS: A small number factors appear be highly predictive underserved, most these can identified at time admission school.
