Management of drooling in children with cerebral palsy: A French survey.

摘要: Abstract Aim To characterise children with cerebral palsy (CP) and pathological drooling in France, to describe care pathways, assessment treatment. Method A transversal, observational, descriptive survey of the practices opinions 400 health professionals potentially involved CP, was carried out nationally across France 2013. Results The response rate 36%. Seventy-five questionnaires were returned analysed (52%). small proportion specifically treated for ( most common treatment oro-facial rehabilitation (95% professionals), followed by anticholinergic drugs (Scopolamine®) (94%) botulinum toxin injections (BT) (66%) surgery (34%). Scopolamine considered be less effective than BT have more side effects. Conclusion CP is likely underestimated under France. There a lack knowledge regarding tools.
