摘要: Chikungunya is an arboviral disease transmitted by aedes mosquitoes. The virus was fi rst isolated in 1953 Tanzania. a member of the genus Alphavirus and family Togaviridae. typically consists acute illness characterised fever, rash, incapacitating arthralgia. word chikungunya, used for both disease, means “to walk bent over” some east African languages, refers to eff ect joint pains that characterise this dengue-like infection. specifi cally tropical but it geographically restricted outbreaks are relatively uncommon.
