摘要: Abstract An acidic component of the cell wall lipopolysaccharide Escherichia coli 0111-B4 was isolated from mild acid hydrolysates polymer. It concluded that this compound 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic on basis following criteria: (a) paper chromatography in a variety solvent systems; (b) degradation with ceric sulfate borohydride reduction; (c) enzymatic by 3-deoxyoctulosonate (KDO) aldolase to yield pyruvate and D-arabinose; (d) rate liberation β-formyl periodate oxidation; (e) chemical synthesis crystalline penta-O-acetyl-KDO methyl ester, which, upon alkaline saponification, yielded KDO which corresponded chromatographically lipopolysaccharide. Further, product saponification identical natural regard specificities cytidine 5'-phosphate-KDO synthetase aldolase. The procedure employed for provides method preparation chemically pure standard compound.
