摘要: Abstract Artificial roughness in the form of ribs is a convenient method for enhancing thermal performance solar air heaters. This paper presents experimental investigation heat transfer and friction factor characteristics rectangular duct roughened with W-shaped arranged at an inclination respect to flow direction on its underside one broad wall. W have been tested both pointing downstream W-down upstream W-up flow. The range parameters this study has decided basis practical considerations system operating conditions. width height ratio ( / H ) 8.0, relative pitch p e 10, D h 0.03375 angle attack α 30–75°. rate corresponds Reynolds number between 2300–14,000. results compared those smooth under similar boundary condition thermo-hydraulic investigated. Thermo-hydraulic comparison different shows that arrangement as 60° gives best performance. In addition correlations developed.
