Morphology‐Controlled Self‐Assembly and Nanostructured NiO: An Efficient and Robust Photocatalytic Water‐Oxidation Catalyst

摘要: Three α-NiO nanocompounds of different morphology, with nanorods, nanowires, and nanoplates, were synthesized by controlling the ratio reactants temperature. The shape structure confirmed SEM, XRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray BET, photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. These compounds examined as catalysts in photocatalytic water oxidation [Ru(2,2′-bipyridine)3]2+ S2O82− a photosensitizer sacrificial oxidant, respectively. All samples exhibit high turnover frequencies perfect stability slightly alkaline conditions. A characteristic peak at around E=0.95 V versus Ag/AgCl assigned to Ni3+ species was detected cyclic voltammetry, which suggests that high-valent nickel may be responsible for oxidation. surface properties nanorods also remain unchanged after examination XPS before reaction.
