摘要: The electrophysiological correlates of retrieval cue processing were investigated in healthy young (18–30 years) and older (63–75 subjects (n=16 per group). Retrieval orientation—the differential cues according to the form sought-for information—and difficulty manipulated a factorial design. In separate study-test cycles, studied either words or pictures, performed yes/no recognition memory task with as test items. ERPs elicited by correctly classified new differed markedly study material subjects, replicating previous findings. this effect was smaller than young, had later onset earlier offset. scalp topography however statistically indistinguishable two groups. These age-related ERP differences unmodulated difficulty, remained reliable when performance matched across By contrast, magnitude timing effects unaffected age. findings suggest that are less able individuals vary their response different demands.
